Clinical Cases:
Definition: Common dermatologic condition in cats. Characterized by follicular
keratinization and glandular proliferation of tissue and glands of the
chin area.
Causes:
- Stress
- Plastic food bowel
- Food allergies
Signs:
- Follicular keratinization and glandular proliferation of tissue and glands of the chin area
- May be occur in lower and upper lips
- Comedones , alopecia , crusts , papule, and erythema.
Diagnosis:
- Take the history of the case
- Clinical Signs : Which mentioned before
- Histopathology
Treatment:
- Secondary infection should be treated with systemic antibiotic for 3 weeks or till the skin become normal
- Topical medication as salicylic acid pads (i.e., Stridex ® pads), benzoyl peroxide 5% gel, 0.01 to 0.025% tretinoin cream or lotion, 0.75% metronidazole gel, clindamycin ointment.
