Clinical Cases:
Definition: A disease affect all Species of poultry Especially Chicken and Turkey Characterized by Respiratory Diseases Signs
Cause: Ornithobacterium Rhinotraculitis (Gram -ve bacteria – Rod shape – Non sporulated form – Non motile – Highly pleomorphic – Catalase -ve – Oxidase +ve)
Signs:
- Increase mortality
- Decrease growth
- Respiratory distress
- Facial edema
- Drop in egg production
P.M lesions:
- Air saculitis with foamy,white exudate in air sacs
- Pneumonia (Unilateral)
- Pericarditis
- Perihepatitis
Transmission:
- Horizontal by direct or indirect contact
- Ingestion or inhalation
Lab Diagnosis:
- Media: 5-10% Sheep blood agar or Tryptose soya agar or Chocolate agar)
- Temperature: 37 c for 24-48 hours
- Identification: Very small colonies -Non hemolytic -Circular -Gray to grayish white color
Treatment: Amoxycillin
