Ulcerative Enteritis in Poultry .. Cause,Signs and Treatment

Clinical Cases:

Ulcerative Enteritis

Definition: One of The clostridial Diseases Characterized by yellow patches on liver (Liver Necrosis)

Cause: Clostridum Colinum

Signs:

  • Bloody Diarrhea
  • General weakness

P.M lesions:

  • Enteritis all over the intestine
  • Liver Necrosis (yellow patches on the liver)
  • Spleen necrosis (Sub capsular hemorrhage)
  • Ulceration in intestine mucosa and cecal mucosa

Isolation:

  • Need 30-32 c —> Grow on tryptose phosphate agar media —> White circular convex translucent colonies

Treatment:

  • Treated by Pinicillin or Amoxycillin
